Rivalry 2005 - 2006.

6 years or ago, Bryan and I were part of a hardcore/punk outfit by the name of Rivalry. This is not to be confused with the ultra boring band of the same name from Upstate New York that started months following our inception. In the year or so we were a band, we played a fuck-load of shows and recorded two demos. Seeing as I had to upload these for a buddy of mine today, I felt compelled to share it with y'alls as well. Being 19-years-old was awesome. It was definitely a really memorable part of my life. We later went on to form and play in such bands as Devil's Advocate, Boxer Rocket, Like You, Rhinoceros, The March, Infamous, Dirty Ways, Rooftops, Vessel and Into Ruin. Welp, so we had our cherries popped last week and played our first show since November. It was one fucking hell of a party. We have two shows coming up this week so get the fuck on down with that shit. Thanks to Derrick Sadkowski from Sons of Azrael and Hellcannon, who will be filling in for us on the 26th as Jason shall be out of town.

Buffalo Decency Rally DVDs.

It is understood that Aaron from Coworkers has been working at compiling all of the footage, pictures and sound from the Rally onto a DVD to document such an extraordinary event.We will keep you updated on when these will be available. Act fast! 

"So after all was said and done there is still about $500 left from the door money of the Decency Rally.

Initially I was reserving the money in case anything expensive got broken over the course of the show. A window was broken, but it’s been taken care of.

Over the past week I’ve been mulling over a few different ideas for the cash.
-Paying each band $30
-Using it to rent a pavilion for a free outdoor summer show.
-Buying a big bag of weed.
-Compiling and printing copies of a show DVD.

After asking around, and seeing the great video, pics, and audio from the show it seems that putting together a DVD would be the best option.

I have access to some top-notch editing gear and some time on my hands. So the idea is to: compile everything into a DVD, print 300 copies with jackets, give everyone who played the show a free copy, and then sell the rest off. I intend it to be fairly classy with nice covers and all that jazz.

Is everybody cool with this? It seems like a fairly win-win situation. If any band would rather have their $30, I’ll be happy to get it to you.

Also, this obviously depends on Rob Bob, Don, Mike, and Clint being cool with me using their stuff. I can download the audio and pics, but I just wanna get everyone’s consent before I get started.

New songs, show, lyrics and whatnotz.

Yes, I know, it's been a hot minute. We've pretty much been laying low as we all work exhaustive schedules and haven't had much time devoted towards the band, but no worries, all shall be back on track sooner than later. I've had a few days to catch up on personal reflection and writing and with that comes lyrics to three brand new songs we have been playing on and off for the last two months. We hope to have a new batch of songs recorded come 2011, to be pressed on a 7" as our first EP. All the lyrics are still extremely rough and need some work. Titles for the three aforementioned songs will be 'Children of America', 'Ellicottville' and 'Big Daddy Bong Lung'. Keep a look out for further updates, for I am more than certain that each and every song I write will be edited four-thousand times over until I'm finally content with the product at hand.

We will be playing our first show in 2 months on January 2nd as "Banned In Buffalo". This is a cover show and rather than restrict ourselves by paying tribute to just one band, we wanted to take this opportunity in paying homage to an entire region and time frame in which the four of us have found inspiration in throughout the years. That being said, we will be playing songs from Bad Brains, Minor Threat, Black Flag, Embrace, Dag Nasty and Fugazi. This is definitely going to be a blast and I encourage all to come out.
